JOHN PRESTON OPEN AWARDS

In association with the John Preston Memorial Fund we have launched two annual open awards for young musicians in the Highlands & Islands aged between 16 and 30 years, including senior school pupils and students in further / higher education.

The purpose of these awards is to support and encourage the development of musical ability and excellence in performing and song writing. 

Applicants for the Young Musician 2021 award are invited to submit a recorded performance for consideration by a professional panel. 

 

Finalists of the Young Musician 2021 award and the recipient of the Young Song Writer 2021 award will be invited to perform at a live event in February 2022.

To be presented to the young songwriter(s) residing or studying in the Highlands and Islands who has (have) written the best original, unpublished song.
