Helping young people to grow and and develop skills in music
The Liam Colgan Music Fund is an independent charity set up to support young musicians and others in the Highlands & Islands of Scotland keen to pursue ambitions in music, whether simply to create music and perform in their local community or to follow dreams of a professional career as a musician, or working in other music-related areas of the creative music industry.
"The Liam Colgan Music Fund is such a welcome, important initiative – born out of great sadness – but one that opens a door on to the healing power of music"

The LCMF, in conjunction with the John Preston Memorial Fund, has just announced the establishment of a hardship fund to support music students and others attending North Highland College campus at Alness, Ross-shire.
More information to follow.
We're delighted to announce that LCMF has been nominated as one of the four charities to receive funds raised at the Highlands and Islands Press Ball and Media Awards 2023.
Each year the HIPBMA select four local charities for support from the event's fundraising efforts, which include an auction, raffle and tombola.
To date, HIPBMA have donated more than £106,000 to a wide range of organisations, with 100 per cent of the money remaining in the Highlands and Islands.
BRIT Trust donates to LCMF
The Liam Colgan Music Fund (LCMF) receives support from the BRIT Trust for its work in the Highlands and Islands.
The BRIT Trust supports a number of major UK charities involved in music but also selects a few smaller charities to support with a donation each year.
The LCMF, one of just six recipients from across the UK selected last year by the BRIT Trust for a donation, has emerged as oneof the most dynamic small charities in the creative industries sector in the North of Scotland.
